If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, you’ve probably heard the words 'be strong' more times than you can count.

But strength doesn’t mean you’re not frightened.

Cancer treatment can bring so much more than the physical side of it. The waiting, the appointments, the uncertainty, the exhaustion, the way life suddenly seems divided into before and after. Even on the days when you’re coping well, there can still be a quiet fear running underneath everything.

You might be struggling to sleep, feeling anxious before treatment, overwhelmed by decisions, or simply exhausted from trying to hold yourself together for the people around you.

This isn’t about pretending everything is okay. It’s about having somewhere you don’t have to perform bravery.

Our sessions are a space where you can let your shoulders drop for a while. We can work on calming the anxiety, easing the mental noise, improving sleep, and helping your body and mind find moments of rest during an incredibly demanding time.

You are still you, underneath all of this. My hope is that our work helps you feel more connected to that part of yourself again, the part that is capable, resilient, and still able to experience moments of calm, even in the middle of something so difficult.

If you feel ready, please get in touch to see how I can help.

Please note: Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy and does not treat or cure cancer. It is designed to support emotional wellbeing and help you cope alongside your medical care.

  • Having to face a masectomy, hysterectomy with chemotherapy after a cancer diagnosis left me an anxious tearful wreck. Being a squeemish person, carrying trauma from a childhood injury made my stress and fear even worse. I knew I needed outside support and found my angel in the form of the lovley Dee Muchmore. Reaching out to her has been the best ting ive done. Dee has taught me a number of different tools and skills to use daily and at times of anxiety and panic, even in public places, I now have the ability to use these skills and techniques to ease the panic and anxiety wherever I am. This has given me a sense of control and peace of mind over my future treatment, im facing months and months of hospital visits, but im totally relaxed now. I use the skills dee has taught me on a daily basis, they are all a major part of my life. They will always be a part of my life and as just as important as eating. Im so fortunate to have found dee, highly recommended.

  • I reached out to Dee at a very low point during my intensive chemotherapy treatment. As the treatment progressed, I could feel my mood dropping and my anxiety building before each session. The side effects were becoming increasingly difficult, and with my existing emetophobia, I was beginning to wonder how much my anxiety and anticipation were adding to how I was feeling. I didn't really know what to expect from hypnotherapy, but I knew I wanted to try a non-medicinal approach and was committed to giving it a go. From my first contact with Dee, she was incredibly calming, supportive and knowledgeable. She gave me simple, practical steps that I could use between sessions, which made everything feel manageable. Our sessions gave me dedicated time to focus on positive thoughts and experiences, while also helping me understand and address my increasingly overflowing "stress and anxiety bucket". Over the course of the sessions, I felt much more able to manage my anxiety around treatment and gained techniques that I could actually use when I needed them. We also worked directly on my emetophobia, helping me change the way I think about situations that previously caused me significant anxiety and giving me much more confidence in my ability to cope. For anyone going through cancer treatment who is struggling with anxiety, fears or simply feeling overwhelmed by everything treatment brings, I couldn't recommend Dee enough. She supported me through an incredibly difficult period with warmth, reassurance and practical tools that I know I will continue to use beyond my treatment.
